Tokyo in late April holds a different kind of magic. Just when most people think the sakura season has ended, another wave of beauty arrives — the King Sakura. Unlike the common cherry blossoms that paint the city earlier in spring, King Sakura blooms a little later, extending the season of pink wonder.
What makes them special is their size — the petals are noticeably larger, fuller, and somehow more elegant, almost like delicate silk layers floating in the breeze. Walking under these trees feels like stepping into a fairytale garden, especially since many of the usual crowds have already left after the peak of regular sakura.
For our photo session, we found hidden spots around Tokyo where King Sakura framed the background perfectly. The blossoms created a dreamy canopy that made every shot feel timeless. Each photo captured the contrast between modern Tokyo life and this fleeting natural wonder — skyscrapers in the distance, yet surrounded by soft petals that seem to slow down time.
If you ever miss the first wave of cherry blossoms in Japan, don’t worry. Plan for late April, and you’ll discover the understated charm of King Sakura — quieter, grander, and perhaps even more beautiful. 🌸✨
